Summary: 浮光 does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All your data stays locally on your device. 浮光 makes no network requests whatsoever.
浮光 (FuGuang) is a Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with a customizable dashboard featuring bookmarks, Chrome bookmark folder sync, a calculator, a translator, daily English sentences, Chinese poetry, Chinese idioms, 30+ animated backgrounds, and a todo list.
浮光 does NOT collect any personal information. Specifically:
• No analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.
• No browsing history, cookies, or personal data is accessed.
• No data is ever sent to any external server (we don't have servers).
• No advertisements are displayed.
• No third-party SDKs are included.
Your bookmarks, groups, settings, favorites, and widget data are stored using Chrome's built-in storage API:
chrome.storage.local — Stores all your bookmarks, settings, favorites (poetry, idioms, daily English), todo items, and custom cover images locally on your device. No data is synced to any cloud service or leaves your machine.
浮光 does not make any network requests. All functionality operates entirely offline using local data and browser APIs.
storage — Required to save your bookmarks, settings, favorites, and widget data locally on your device.
bookmarks — Required for the Chrome bookmark folder sync and import features. 浮光 reads your bookmark tree to let you sync folders and listens for bookmark changes to keep synced groups up to date. 浮光 does NOT modify, delete, or create any bookmarks in your Chrome browser.
tabs — Required to detect and close duplicate new tab pages, ensuring only one instance of 浮光 is open at a time for a cleaner browsing experience.
We do not sell, trade, or transfer any data to third parties. We do not have access to your data at all.
浮光 does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
